Unplanned Moments

I'll be honest with you — sometimes a photo session goes exactly as planned. Beautiful light, perfect timing, everyone smiling. And then there are the other times. The times when your subject has simply had enough and lets you know in the most dramatic way possible.

This is my son Chris, 2 at the time. The leaves were peak fall color. The light was golden. And Chris was completely, utterly done. No negotiating. No bribing with snacks. Just full surrender to the pavement.

Honestly? It's one of my favorite photos I've ever taken. Sometimes the unplanned moment is the real one.
