JIMMY SCHAEFER

I grew up in Saint Paul and honestly couldn't imagine being from anywhere else. In 2009 I got my hands on a Canon 7D and fell completely in love with what a camera could do. The DSLR video movement was exploding at the time — everyday people making cinematic, beautiful work — and I was all in. It kicked off a journey through weddings, photography, graphic design, photo editing positions, and eventually a degree in design and digital animation.

Since then I've had the joy of shooting on just about every major camera system out there — Canon, Sony, Fuji, Leica, Blackmagic, you name it. Every system teaches you something new, and I've loved every chapter of it.

I'm also a huge tech nerd — always have been. I spent years working in corporate tech before making a shift that felt right for this season of life. Now I get to pour that energy into something closer to home, working at my son's school as Director of Technology and doing everything I can to make it a better place for the people there every day.

In 2014 I married my absolute best friend, Ashley, and it's been the greatest adventure of my life. We have two incredible boys — Ben, who's 9, and Chris, who's 3 and is just the happiest little guy. Ashley also had a huge hand in bringing me back to my faith. I'm a follower of Jesus, and that shapes everything about how I try to show up in the world.
